TATIANA BILBAO ESTUDIO: UNRAVELING MODERN LIVING
Unraveling Modern Living was a site-specific installation designed by Mexico City’s Tatiana Bilbao Estudio. A range of collaborators contributed to the installation, which explored new models of collectivity and commons in the space of the Graham Foundation’s Madlener House. TWM produced a series of seating cushions using repurposed fabrics, designed to integrate with the modular furniture system designed by Sweet Water Foundation.

MACRO WEAVING WORKSHOP
As part of the programming that activated the installation, TWM led a participatory macro-weaving workshop for kids and adults. Twisting recycled fabrics into giant yarns and weaving them together, we formed a collective loom at the human scale. Inspired by Jennifer Huang and James Hapke’s 2018 W.A.R.P. workshops, the workshop invited people of all ages to zoom in on the over-under of woven cloth.
