Rush-style Ladderback Chair
Rush-style Ladderback Chair
Another variation on the Shaker ladderback chair, using the same stripped-down geometric style but in a deep green finish for a dramatic presence. The seat on this piece is a style traditionally done in woven rush - rather than the uniformity of the rush we used loops and lengths of waste thread from the weaving process tied together in a playful mix of colors and loose ends. The back ‘slats’ are fashioned from leftover vegetable tanned leather, dyed to match the wood chair body and attached with contrasting brass hardware.
