For the last several years The Weaving Mill, Passementerie Mill and 1733 have been working individually and together to shape Chicago’s textile and softgoods production capabilities. The Binding Bag bag is our trifecta’s first product. This handbag uses exterior seams bound with a 1” plain-weave binding from Passementerie Mill to create shape and structure as well as the handles and cross body strap. Checkered jelly bean cotton fabric woven by TWM lines up across the panels and makes each piece unique. Toggle closure (made with a repurposed wooden tassel form) adds security while an interior pocket provides orientation.
